Conveyorized Oven for Continuous Web Processing Applications Featuring 5 Levels and 15 Zones

A Web processing operation needed a more efficient system for creating welding wire and rubberized elastic material, in a continuous web-form. Epcon designed and built a unique Conveyorized Oven for this web-processing operation, with adjustable speeds for various parts of the conveyor belt. The complex oven was equipped with 15 zones, across 5 levels and features sophisticated airflow dynamics between the 5 levels with 15 burners strategically placed in individualized heating chambers. The Oven also supplies indirect heat for the curing process at a later stage in production. The compact design and thermal recycling of the system allowed for a more efficient operation, saving on fuel consumption, while also allowing for increased throughput production of continuous web formations. Over the years, Epcon has designed and built several multi-level Ovens, for various applications, which are successfully operating around the world.

Afterburner with Quench & Scrubber for Petrochemical Operations

The Challenge A leader in Latin America’s Chemical and  Petrochemical Industry  needed equipment to oxidize Hydrogen Sulphide and removal of SO 2 /SO 3 . The chemical plant generated large quantities of exhaust enriched with H 2 S, water vapor and air, which were costing the facility exorbitant amounts to properly dispose of . Coil Coating Line with Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer and Multistage Heat Recovery

The Challenge A Coil Coating operation utilized an old direct-fired afterburner and a portion of the exhausts gas to heat a 100’ long curing oven, operating at line speeds up to 700ft/min The Solution Evaluating the appropriate oxidation system for a specific process stream is more challenging and requires in depth analysis of the specific process gas and operating parameters, as there are many configurations to choose from. A Direct Fired Afterburner, sometimes called an incinerator, is the most elementary system, as it contains no heat recovery system. Ideal for high VOC levels and fluctuating operating conditions.
