Epcon Builds Custom Oven for Wicket Ovens

Epcon has been active in the 55 gallon steel drum manufacturing industry for 45+ year. This special proprietary system for dual laying and triple laying Wicket Ovens.

These Ovens were designed and manufactured for a repeat customer. These Ovens are intended for high-production efficiency, processing between 720-750 Drums per Hour.
Constructed of aluminized steel inside and Carbon steel outside, these robust Wicket Ovens operate at 500 °F and feature high speed conveyors for producing the Drum Tops and Bottoms.

The Challenge A Coil Coating operation utilized an old direct-fired afterburner and a portion of the exhausts gas to heat a 100’ long curing oven, operating at line speeds up to 700ft/min The Solution Evaluating the appropriate oxidation system for a specific process stream is more challenging and requires in depth analysis of the specific process gas and operating parameters, as there are many configurations to choose from. A Direct Fired Afterburner, sometimes called an incinerator, is the most elementary system, as it contains no heat recovery system. Ideal for high VOC levels and fluctuating operating conditions. Afterburner with Quench & Scrubber for Petrochemical Operations

The Challenge A leader in Latin America’s Chemical and  Petrochemical Industry  needed equipment to oxidize Hydrogen Sulphide and removal of SO 2 /SO 3 . The chemical plant generated large quantities of exhaust enriched with H 2 S, water vapor and air, which were costing the facility exorbitant amounts to properly dispose of .
